Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9th, 1976 at Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents encouraged her parents, a dentist and teacher who both taught her to pursue her interest in acting. This was in contrast her earlier ambition to be a primatologist due to the fact that she loved monkeys. There was an immediate rise in her career to become an internationally renowned young actress. Following her studies in 1998 she participated in the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning her acting career in earnest. Although she studied at The Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou has stayed away from her religious upbringing and has stated she's not Catholic. Alongside her acting work, she is also pursuing modeling. The model was for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and was dubbed "The Chanel Muse". In addition to her acting career, she has an interest in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection photos during the Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. The majority of her photography is focused on celebrity and fame, and then turns her camera to the journalists who scrutinised her following her sudden rise to stardom with Amelie and a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring as a lead character in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie is an international box office success and praised at many award festivals around the globe. Amelie has been the most financially successful French-language film in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in a wide range of films that ranged from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood under the direction of Ron Howard of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code together with Tom Hanks.
