Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 in an Olympic celebration. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at age six. She would later be Romania's gymnastics coach. Her first competitive event was the national junior championships in which she finished 13th in 1969. In the year 1970, she won. In her very first international competition in 1972, she won the event with three gold medals. In her very first competition at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals aswell being awarded a silver. In 1976, she became the first person in the world to use a backwards-double salto in order to take off parallel bars. Her path into the world of entertainment began in her teens, when she began skating figure along with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol started her entertainment career in her teens. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows called Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events with theatrical shows.
